Inspired by health, nature and positive living.

A family-owned business, The LimeTree Hotel's name came about from its owner's passion in agriculture and limes in particular, where much research and time had been spent at the family's privately owned plantation in Kuching to grow these seedless, Tahitian limes.

The unique characteristics of the lime, sometimes dubbed the "green lemon", often make lime closely related to fresh and healthy living due to its natural cleansing properties. It is with this hotel that the family explores, shares and offers the concept of fresh and positive living to its guests through its lime-inspired rooms, smoke-free environment, healthy foods, handmade lime products and friendly, efficient staff.

The LimeTree is also committed to continuously adopt green practices within the hotel in support of environmental sustainability. The LimeTree Hotel is a proud member of Travelife and strives to meet the Travelife criteria in improving
sustainability of our hotel operations whilst protecting the planet and supporting local communities.

A bit of history
Previously an unoccupied office space, The LimeTree Hotel building was acquired in 2008 by current owners. After a major renovation process, The LimeTree Hotel was opened in mid-2009 and officially launched in 2010.

The plantation
The 20-acre lime plantation is located 40km from Kuching city centre, where the lime fruits are harvested daily. The lime fruits are then packed in another location and sold in selected markets and restaurants in Kuching. Our LimeTree guests get to enjoy freshly squeezed lime juice served every morning during breakfast!

Interestingly, since 2020 the owners have also cultivated taro yam in the plantation. Our guests can savour the many delivious taro yam food products available on our food menu such as yam nachos, fries, fritters, and Bubur Cha Cha dessert, a local favourite!
